What is O*Net (Occupational Information Network)?

 

The ‘Occupational Information Network’, abbreviated as ‘O*Net’ is a website that can be accessed by clicking here. It provides US citizens with a free online database of job and occupation-related definitions and explanations.

 

O*Net provides all relevant information about key factors related to over 1000 jobs available to US citizens such as the requirements of the job, the qualifications and experience required, its roles and responsibilities, average salary, etc.

 

It is sponsored by the US Department of Labor and Employment and Training Administration by utilizing a grant provided to the North Carolina Department of Commerce as O*Net was created to be the sole source of occupational information.
