Career Plateau

What is Career Plateau ?

A ‘Career Plateau’ is a point in one’s career path at which one might feel stuck at the current position with no option to advance further in one’s career. It might happen either due to some internal or external factors.

The reasons for the occurrence of a career plateau might be multifold and it varies from one individual to the other. Some of the common reasons include excess confidence in one’s skills which leads to remaining in the same position without any incentive.

An external reason for the occurrence of a career plateau might also be the lack of career opportunities as it is harder to change companies further down the career path.
