Human Relations Movement

What is Human Relations Movement ?

The ‘Human Relations Movement’ refers to the movement by sociologist George Elton Mayo, who suggested in the 1930s that there is a definite link between employee satisfaction and their productivity in the workplace.

It was based on the Hawthore studies, which concluded that when the employees consider the employees’ job satisfaction as a priority and implement adequate amount of changes, the overall employee productivity increases which helps in increasing the revenue of the company.

An important corollary to the human relations movement is that if you divide the employees into teams with effective communication between teams as well as make them a part of the decision making process in the company, you will be able to improve the overall quality of the workplace.
