Absenteeism Policy

What is Absenteeism Policy?

An ‘Absenteeism Policy’ is a set of regulations imposed by an organization for its employees to minimize unwarranted absenteeism from the workplace. It also provides guidelines for the employees to follow and request for leaves in case of genuine reasons like illness, injury, etc.

It stipulates the annual leave limit as well as the policies governing the kind of leaves available to different classes of employees in an organization.

A good Absenteeism Policy will also include provisions for leaves in the form of paid time-offs or PTOs. It will help the employee cultivate healthy leave habits and discourage them from abusing the leave policies.
