What is Employee Assistance Program (EAP) ?

‘Employee Assistance Program’ or EAP helps the employees by lowering the effects of their personal problem on their workplace engagement. It will also help the employee become more effective in their work and lead to an overall increase in job satisfaction and efficiency.

From the company’s standpoint, it helps reduce anxiety among the employees and the cost of absence and low productivity. EAPs generally help in a variety of scenarios including addiction, marriage issues, financial stress, mental health concerns, etc.

Ideally, EAPs work proactively to identify potential victims and help mitigate their issues before it starts affecting their work and productivity. This will also help in employee engagement and help the employee understand how important is employee welfare for the company.
