What is Bean-feast?

 

The ‘Bean-feast’ is the term used to define the annual dinner organized by a company for its employees. Over time, the definition has changed a lot and it also includes staycations as well as holidays sponsored by the company for the company staff nowadays.

 

The origin of the term ‘Bean-feast’ is in the late 19th century when the company went on a trip to any forest, where the titular feast was served to the staff members. The highlight of the trip was a cake called the ‘King Cake’ with the titular bean buried somewhere inside it.

 

The person receiving the slice with the bean was referred to as the ‘Bean King’ as it was considered good fortune to receive the bean.
