Applicant Pool

What is Applicant Pool?

An ‘Applicant Pool’ is a list of potential candidates who have applied for a vacant job position and are being considered for the position by HR.

The applicant pool depends on the position being offered and the kind of organization offering the job.

In the case of entry-level positions, the applicant pool would be huge and hence, strict selection criteria are needed to select the best candidates.

On the contrary, in the case of senior positions, the applicant pool itself is less and hence, the ideal candidate is selected based on the interviews and scrutinizing every aspect of each candidate.
