Internet of Things (IoT)

What is Internet of Things (IoT)?

‘Internet of Things’ or ‘IoT’ refers to the network created by smart objects. These smart objects are the ones which have some kind of logic algorithms and are able to connect to the internet. They are able to communicate with each other as well as with other devices for exchanging data.

Nowadays, IoT has become synonymous with the ‘smart home’ concept wherein we have got smart devices such as lights, fans, security systems, chairs, fridges, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, speakers, displays, TVs, etc.

As these devices are connected to the internet, most of them can be controlled remotely by using an app on a mobile phone. However, this convenience has also given rise to many questions regarding the security and privacy of the end users, which has consequently led to multiple regulations regarding the manufacture and usage of these devices.
