Competency Modelling

What is Competency Modelling?

‘Competency Modelling’ is a process developed to understand the competencies available throughout the company and take necessary actions. It helps in realizing the strengths and weaknesses concerning the key competencies which the company has to achieve and steps can be taken to nurture the ones which the employees possess as well as cultivate the competencies which they are lacking.

Competency modelling ensures that the required competencies are distributed evenly throughout the company. Many companies have training programs that help inculcate the required competencies in those individuals who demonstrate the required competency in a dormant state.

Competency modelling also ensures that the company is utilizing its employees effectively based on their competency and even reshuffling them if feasible. This will lead to a much more efficient organization, which will eventually benefit the company and its employees.
