Baby Boomers

What are Baby Boomers?

‘Baby Boomers’ is the collective term used to describe the generation born between 1946 and 1964, although the exact years are debatable.

This generation is relevant as they are the ones who have witnessed the aftermath of World War 2 and have thrived despite the harsh conditions. They are referred to as ‘boomers’ because of the boom in the populace after the great war. They are also the generation who have developed strong cultural and political identities since they have witnessed the mass destruction of warfare.

They also hold a significant amount of wealth as well as senior positions in various companies. Hence, they have a prominent place when it comes to HR and its related functions as they are the decision-makers.
