Mohawk Valley Formula

What is Mohawk Valley Formula?

‘Mohawk Valley Formula’ is a formula used for breaking strikes. It includes various plans of action such as breaking the trust of union leaders, threatening the striking workers using violence or using local goons to intimidate them, fortifying workplaces, etc.

It was developed by the president of the Remington Rand Company, James Rand Jr. during the Remington Rand strike between 1936 and 1937. There is clear evidence regarding the fact that the Remington Rand Company suppressed the strikers ruthlessly and their measures have been included in the Mohawk Valley formula.

Another important facet of the formula is to label the acts of the management as pro-American and hence, label the acts against them as acts of violence and unpatriotic.
