Disability

What is Disability?

A ‘Disability’ is defined as a limitation of any kind that hampers an individual’s ability to perform a task effectively. It might take various forms, for example, mental, physical, cognitive, emotional, sensory, etc.

As people with disabilities face harder hurdles compared to a normal employee in the office, there are several regulations in place to make the office friendly for them. Employers are required by law to make reasonable adjustments to the workspace to make sure that disabled employees can work effectively.

Similarly, the government has strict policies against those who discriminate against disabled individuals. If an employer is found to prefer people without disabilities when it comes to providing any kind of benefits, the government bodies can intervene and in severe cases, even remove the rights of the company to continue as a business.
