What is Gamification ?

In the context of HR, ‘Gamification’ refers to the concept of designing the daily mundane activities around game design elements to make it more interesting. It would make the employment related activities more enjoyable by inculcating a reward structure.

Recently, there has been an increase in the number of departments and processes which has been ‘gamified’. Mundane HR activities like recruiting, training and development, surveys, etc. have been infused with gamification concepts to reward the employees performing the duties well.

Gamification can be implemented once the HRs are able to understand the employee aspirations related to their daily work. Designing a successful gamification plan will help in improving the overall job satisfaction of the employees and help keep them engaged.
