Hosted Delivery Model

What is Hosted Delivery Model ?

‘Hosted Delivery Model’ refers to the delivery model of software in which the software is installed on an off-shore server and is made available to the user via the Internet.

It is different from the more common cloud model of software delivery as it is an individual instance of the software. It is simply being run via the internet. Similarly, it also needs to be maintained and updated by the service provider for every user.

As this kind of delivery model helps in removing the additional costs required to procure and maintain expensive servers, it is preferred by small and medium businesses. However, its popularity has been surpassed by the more common cloud-based software delivery model.
