Dead-end Job

What is Dead-end Job ?

A ‘Dead-end Job’ is the kind of job position wherein the employee has limited to no scope of promotion. Dead-end jobs demotivate the employee and lead them away from the position.

An important aspect to understand about dead-end jobs is that it is not a fixed position. A dead-end job might arise due to a manager who is not allowing an employee to get promoted due to personal grudges.

Similarly, it is not related to job satisfaction either. Some employees prefer having a dead-end job with no responsibilities as they are happy with the repetitive work and the stable source of income. In this case, the employee’s job satisfaction is excellent even though they are in a dead-end job.
