Background Screening

What is Background Screening?

‘Background Screening’ or ‘Pre-Employment Screening’ refers to the process of checking the background of the candidates before a final offer is made. It helps the employer to verify whether the candidate being hired is trustworthy and capable of handling his or her daily duties efficiently.

Companies might deploy various kinds of background screening like checking for any kind of criminal records, verifying with the provided references, drug tests, social media screening, etc. to verify the authenticity and credibility of the candidate and the documentation provided at the time of recruitment.

This process benefits the company as it helps them find a morally competent employee who would prove an asset to the organization. It also reduces the risk of spending resources on training and grooming an employee for him or her to switch jobs at the next opportunity available.
