What is Equal Employment Opportunity?

 

‘Equal Employment Opportunity’ refers to the legal policy stating that a company will not discriminate against anyone based on their caste, creed, race, skin color, marital status, disabilities, gender, religion, age, or sexual preferences.

 

This law helps minorities get equal employment opportunities and helps create a secular job market. It also helps in creating awareness against the discrimination faced by them and makes sure that it does not happen to any employee.

 

Although the law was passed to dissuade employers from discriminating against anyone, it has helped in creating awareness among the employers and nowadays, employers and companies have their policies in place to fight against this kind of discrimination against prospective job-seeking candidates as well as existing employees of the organization.
