Due to ‘lockdown’, the dynamics of work have changed not only for employers but for employees too. Now, ‘work from home’ is the new normal! HR professionals also have their own responsibilities to motivate and engage their best talent during these challenging days.

Below are 4 key areas HR leaders should focus on to successfully navigate through the changes in the work landscape and lead the ‘new normal’ with ease;

  • Infrastructure for work from home employees

Many companies have asked their workforce to operate from home, but creating a proper home office set up is a big challenge. Majority of staff is still struggling to adopt ‘work from home’ culture because of technical and/or communication issues. So, help your work from home employees by offering them all the necessary guidance and support.

  • Engagement of remote staff

The pandemic is forcing companies to experiment with the remote work culture and hence, HR people should focus on strengthening the employee-employer bond. Create a robust strategy to engage your remote staff so that they can feel connected.

Invest in the cloud-based training management software and schedule online training sessions to engage employees. Increase employee engagement level to improve their productivity and morale.

  • Focus on information and training

Provide your remote staff authentic information and necessary training to keep the wheels moving. Communication from organizations is valuable. Share information to your workforce about how staff can be protected even if you work from home or office via e-mails and/or official chat groups. Conduct online training programs to keep your team motivated and productive.

  • Wellness at workplace

As an HR, it’s your responsibility to look after mental and physical well-being of your staff in this uncertain period. The lockdown exempts certain essential services that mean some employees are still going to offices. In such cases, take necessary steps to disinfect work spaces, provide sanitizers and arrange emergency medical services.
